Hilo Bay Hostel in Hawaii is offering a chance of a lifetime. Come experience the unique culture of Hawaii while getting real life work experience at a backpackers hostel on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Students with an interest in hospitality, marketing, computer studies, recreation and small business will find it especially appealing, as it will give you a chance to apply skills learned at University. On a personal level, you will have a chance to explore this fantastic island, meet interesting people from around the world, and add something to your resume that few students get a chance to. Most importantly it is a chance to have fun and get practical experience in a field you have chosen to work in. In addition to your work you will be asked to participate in developing one aspect of the business. This can take the form of market research, surveys, feasibility studies, computer programming, advertising campaigns etc.
The hostel is in a recently renovated old hotel in the historic downtown district of Hilo. It can accommodate approximately 50 people in 11 private and dormitory style rooms. Guests are
all ages and come from around the world.

3.0
GPA, basic computer skills, writing skills, good
communication skills. |

Requirements: |
Resume,
letter of interest, interview, personal
references, medical/accident Insurance. |

Duties: |
To
work in all areas of the hostel, front desk,
housekeeping, information etc. 7.5 hours 5 days a
week. |
|
Expectation: |
To
carry out duties involved with the day-to-day
running of the hostel and also (in consultation
with owner of hostel and manager) complete a
special project of mutual interest and benefit
that relates to your specific course of study.
Involvement
in the local community. Interns are expected to
join a club, team, class, workshop, performance
group or do local volunteer work. |

Compensation: |
Hilo Bay Hostel will provide the following:
- Free accommodation (in dormitory)
- Weekly stipend of
$225.00
- Tours and Activities to acquaint students with the Big Island
